Meet Lindsey Eaton

Autism Self-advocate | Public Speaker | Independent Living Champion

Eaton/Lane and Donaldson family

Hi, I’m Lindsey Eaton—an enthusiastic self-advocate, public speaker, and proud graduate of the LOPES Academy at the Cardon Center at Grand Canyon University. I’m 30 years old, live independently in Scottsdale, Arizona, and work as an Office Assistant at Christ Lutheran School.
Every day, I help with important office tasks like assisting with shredding, delivering preschool lunches and compiling a weekly Connections update and organizing materials. But the highlight of my day is working in the Connections program, where I build relationships with students who have autism—just like me. I know how powerful it is to feel understood, and I’m proud to be someone they can relate to and trust.

Living on my own has been one of my greatest accomplishments. I manage my own schedule, budget my money using EveryDollar, cook for myself, and stay active in my community through events like bingo night. My family lives nearby, and I love spending time with them whenever I can.

One of my biggest passions is public speaking. Whether it’s sharing my personal journey, leading a presentation, or speaking on a panel, I bring honesty, humor, and heart to every opportunity. My mission is to help others understand that autism is not a barrier—it's a unique strength.

I proudly serve on the Arizona APSE Board and the SARRC Self-Advocate Advisory Board, where I help guide efforts to promote employment and inclusion for people with disabilities. I’m also an active leader in Young Life Capernaum, where I help create meaningful connections and faith-based experiences for young adults with disabilities.

When I’m not working or speaking, you can find me traveling, watching reruns from The Bachelor, cheering at sporting events, going shopping, or treating myself to a relaxing nail day. I also enjoy spending quality time with friends and family.

I believe in breaking stereotypes, building understanding, and showing the world what’s possible with autism—and a side of awesomeness!

MY FAVORITE BOOKS

I have read many books that have shaped my life  throughout my lifetime including:

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Winning the War in Your Head by Jennie Allen

Atomic Habits by James Clear

The BIBLE by Jesus
